It sounds strange doesn't it. To find life by losing it. We are told from our youngest remembrance to get all you can and keep all you get. To look out for number one and naturally we are number one. Even in religious circles this mentality of self centered concerns is promoted. So when Jesus tells us to lose our lives, what does He mean? The teaching strikes at the very heart of the matter, our right to ourselves. The core of sin is my right to myself and in the losing of that right is great freedom. The losing of my rights is the embracing of His will and the discovery of life itself.
